More light. A clearer view of the work needed
A conservatory combines several materials in one small space. Roof panels, seals, frames, decorative edges and gutters each need attention. A clear quote starts by identifying what is included and what can be reached appropriately.
Tell David whether the roof is glass, polycarbonate or another system, and whether you know the manufacturer. Include a wide photograph from outside and a view of the rear access. There is no need to climb onto or reach across the roof to take a picture.
Cleaning and repairing are separate
Let us know about leaks, slipped panels, damaged seals or brittle areas before the visit. Cleaning cannot resolve failed glazing seals or repair a roof system. If the conservatory needs repair, that should be discussed with an appropriate installer.
Existing internal condensation or discolouration between panes also needs to be distinguished from dirt on the outside. Tell us exactly where you see the problem rather than assuming it is accessible surface dirt.
Agree the details
Ask whether the quote includes roof panels, frames and gutters, and whether the work is exterior only. Finials, awkward corners and adjoining walls can change the access requirements. If there are blinds, electrics or other fittings close to the work area, mention them in advance.

A sensible sequence with other work
If the main roof above the conservatory also needs moss removal, discuss both tasks together. Debris from work at a higher level should be considered before the lower surfaces receive their final clean. The roof, conservatory and patio may need different methods even when they form one project.
